Hi Folks. I've had a great time leading groups so far this year and looking forward to many more. We're getting together safely and with awareness, but we're still living it! Stay tuned, I'll be posting information about the latest classes shortly.
We're in a Lover's year: 2022 = 6 and it's a powerful, multi-dimensional energy. Here's part 1.
The Lovers is a multi-faceted energy, full of divinity, soul, sex, love, definition, connection, contrast, opposites and similarities and yes, neurosis. This deserves multiple writings so I’ll periodically post about The Lover’s card.
Remember, when we’re dealing with one energy we’re also dealing with it’s opposite so we’ll explore The Devil card as well. The Devil #15, add 1 + 5 = 6, is the darker side of the Lover’s. Full of co-dependent, shut-down, confused, back and forth, in and out energy.
If you pull the Devil for a new relationship question; run and ask questions later. There may be some deep karma inherent in the situation so that may be hard to do. But I wouldn’t feel right about myself if I didn’t advise that.
If you pull the Lover’s right way up; good decision and your moving toward a coming together. If
you pull the Lover’s reversed; bad choice you’re moving toward separation, from yourself of others. Find another way either within the situation or see it as a good decision to separate.
Now let’s go deeper.
The Lover’s card is ruled by Gemini and therefore the planet Mercury. Mercury is in retrograde as we speak and will go station direct on February 3rd, 2022. Mercury also rules the Magician (#1) so there’s a powerful ability to manifest here. Sometimes too much, so try to keep a balance.
During Mercury Retrograde we have opportunities to rewrite, revamp, re-do and review projects that we’re working on. It’s a great time to hone and improve our skill set and to visit or revisit the depths of self-intimacy.
Yes, communication can get skewed so be sure to dot your i’s and cross your t’s. Look at any contracts with a shrewd eye and if an ex decides to revisit your relationship make sure your rose-colored glasses are off.
Not all aspects are bad here but due to the heady aspect of Gemini being an air sign, be sure you carve out time to rest think things through. You may be of two minds so maybe wait until you can merge them into one unique and fresh vision. That’s the creative-tension aspect of the Lover’s and the Devil as they have a tendency to triangulate.
Use the energy to build something of value and integrity, that’s important when working with this energy and it can make or break something.
Practice being present with yourself and be sure the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. Come back to self, revisit Soul. Exploring the deeper meaning within situations can be helpful.
Free-Will. It’s a big deal. But do we always have a choice? Most of the time yes. Although, frequently in difficult times the only choice we have is how we perceive a situation and that could possibly determine its outcome in the long-run.
Outside of powerful emotions, which are always present with The Lover’s energy, ask if the person or the situation we’re in takes us toward our higher purpose.
How do you know if it takes you toward a higher purpose?
Ask these questions:
Is this situation a good influence in my life? Are my thoughts more clear? Do I feel more balanced because of this or do I feel as if I’m always off kilter?
Is this situation in alignment with my core values?
Does the situation summon the better parts of me or the worst parts of me?
Do I feel as if I constructively contribute to the better part of the situation? Or do I feel as if my contribution is unheard or unseen?
Is this a positive agent of change in my life or does it require that I limit my abilities or capacity for emotional, spiritual or mental growth?
How is my own attitude affecting this situation? Am I feeling hopeful and reaching toward a lighter, more desired outcome or am I resisting the necessary transformation, keeping myself in the dark?

Exploring the deeper meaning within situations can be quite helpful, reducing anxiety and leading to more fulfillment.
I’m currently reading a wonderful book called ‘Emotional Intimacy’ by Robert Augustus Masters. It’s a plethora information about engaging the deeper levels of self including anxiety, anger and fear and provides techniques that encourage emotional healing, resilience and awareness. This leads to the good relationships that the Lover’s truly represents and the positive part of the deep, divine and soulful connections in our lives.
Another great book about intimacy is ‘The Dance of Intimacy’ by Hariett Lerner and I highly recommend it.
Removing the chains of fear and ego through shadow-work can liberate our innate creative power and instill a sense of autonomy as it gradually restores a balanced sense of self. This leads to better relationships that are in alignment with who you’re becoming not who you’ve been. Now that's a good choice!
